Gale Courses

Available through the Monarch Library System, Gale Courses are FREE online classes offered on a variety of topics.

Their six-week format is flexible to fit your schedule; most classes have a suggested course load of 2-4 hours a week that you can spend at your convenience.

An award of completion, earned by a passing grade, is great for resumes and continuing education.

Hundreds of courses are available on topics from accounting and finance to writing and publishing. New ones begin every month!

To enroll, you must have a current library card and Internet connection. Full requirements are listed for each class on the Gale Courses website.

Drop by the circulation desk to fill out a short application form or print out this form and fill it out beforehand. You will need a driver's license or photo ID with current address.


Applicants under 16 years of age must have a parent present with the parent’s driver’s license. Your first library card is free! There is a $3 replacement fee if you lose your card.

Through the Department of Public Instruction, the Badgerlink Program has been developed to provide Wisconsin residents with access to information. Users can search for magazine and newspaper articles through Badgerlink. 


 Learn 80 languages in 50 languages at your own pace.

ESL training is also available in 50 non-english speaking languages.

Online access is available in a browser on a computer and mobile devices.

There is also an online prep test course designed for immigrants to succeed at the Naturalization test called ProCitizen.
